We understand there has been a lot of information shared regarding the proposed school consolidation, and we have created this page to keep resources in one place for our Fairview families.

As a PTO, our goal is to provide access to all information so families can stay informed.

State Funding Concerns

A community petition is currently circulating that calls for changes to New Jersey’s public school funding formula. Many families believe the current state funding structure is contributing to school district challenges, including those being felt here in Middletown. Families who would like to learn more can review the petition and decide for themselves whether they would like to support it.

Save Our Schools: Community Meeting

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the SOS informational meeting.

For those who were unable to attend, important information was shared regarding how the current school closure plan could impact ALL students, with a closer look at what this may mean for Fairview beginning in the 2027–2028 school year.

Based on the data presented, middle school overcrowding is expected, and additional closures in the future remain a possibility.

SOS also shared that there is still time to advocate before any final decisions are made. The plan has not yet been approved by the County Superintendent or the State, and there is pending litigation that requires a response in the near future. Additionally, it was noted that the current budget deficit may be addressable through alternative solutions.
